Bently & Denali
Big dog lovers— get a load of these beautiful babies! These stunning Mastiffs are estimated to be about 3-years-old, and the bonded pair are in need of “a new leash on life.” Bentley and Denali were found wondering the streets/woods in Howell. They are gentle giants who are hoping that someone will open their homes and hearts to them. They are dependent upon each other, and appear to only have been given minimal care based on the shape they were in when found. These boys should be adopted together. To meet these large, stunning resident please visit the shelter today!

These biological sisters–both named Molly (how silly!)– had the same parents, but come from different litters. These beautiful girls are aged 5 and 6… and they are currently seeking a forever home. They have been fostered in the same home since June 2015. Sadly theses poor girls’ human mom passed away last March and their foster dad would like to help them find a permanent home. The “Mollys” are both Mastiff-Shepherd mixes, and both weigh over 100+ lbs. Tan 6-year-old Molly is the stronger personality, and 5-year-old brindle Molly is on the submissive side. Both are spayed and healthy. They would do best with large yard and/or land They also really like other big dogs. Please email email@example.com for more info.
Could be a horse…could be a giraffe…it’s Rocky!!!…an anything but ordinary extra large dog. If you like SUPER TALL dogs with gigantic hearts, you must meet this sweet and silly boy. Though Rocky came to us a Mastiff, he actually looks more like a Great Dane with his slender build and mile-long, gangly legs. Due to a move, poor, sweet Rocky is in search of a permanent home. At a young 5-years-old, affectionate Rocky LOVES other dogs and children, and even lived with a cat when he was a puppy. He knows some commands, and is truly a gentle giant. Rocky is extremely affectionate, and loves nothing more than good ear and tummy rub. He is also very playful, and is a sight to behold prancing around like a horse with toys in his mouth. Rocky has fear and nervousness that his foster Mom is currently working on with him. Previously Rocky was kept separated from the family in a laundry room for long periods of time. He will need an owner who has experience with large dogs with fear issues. You can get more information about Rocky by contacting Mastiffs to Mutts at http://www.mastiffstomutts.org
Onyx is a 3-year-old Italian Mastiff. He lives with a cat. He is a calm, sweet boy who loves to play. He has been starting to show a little dog aggressive when walking recently, but this may be because he does not have access to a yard. Onyx walks very well on the leash, but will occasionally decide to dart after other dogs. He also seems to dislike older people. I have no idea what it is he just doesn’t like them. Onyx needs a family familiar with the breed who will give him he deserves. Onyx has been socialized with children and other dogs just not in the past year. His current owner has had a major life change and can no longer keep Onyx. She is heartbroken as he is really a special boy. Can you give Onyx a better life? Email us at info@largedogrescue for more information. NOTE- Onyx is located in Saint Louis, Missouri
Chango is down for anything! This 4-year-old Pit Bull/Boxer mix loves to play at the playground, just like an agility dog! Steps, tunnels, slides, rock climbing– Chango does it all! He also loves to go hiking and enjoys taking in the scenery. Chango loves to play Frisbee, or swim in the kiddie pool, but, he also knows how to take it easy and lounge in his bed like a pro. How has this incredible boy been waiting so long for the right humans to find him? He is awesome! Housebroken, sweet, good with most dogs (with the right introduction). Don’t let him wait any longer. Come meet Chango today! To learn more about Coby email firstname.lastname@example.org, call 732-681-3450 or visit us on Petfinder. You can also visit Rescue Ridge us on Facebook
Biggie & Jada
Biggie and Jada are 7 year old mastiffs that were surrendered to our AHS Newark facility by their owner who could no longer care for them. The two were just beside themselves with grief and confusion as to why they were taken from their home and brought to an unfamiliar place, but at least they still had each other for comfort. We immediately began mending their broken hearts, and checking them out medically as well. Both were thin, sickly and neglected when they arrived. After lots of good medical care and TLC, Biggie overcame his upper respiratory infection and Jada did as well, but she also needed several teeth removed due to dental disease that was never treated. We also discovered that a lump on Jada’s shoulder blade that was removed was malignant. Jada has adenocarcinoma and her condition will need to be monitored indefinitely. No treatment is necessary but unfortunately, we cannot determine how much time Jada has left. Whether it’s a couple of months or a couple of years, we just want Jada to be with her best friend, Biggie, until the end. The pair are such gentle giants and don’t ask for much from you to make them happy. They’re very well behaved and despite their age, they’re both very active as well. They don’t mind other larger dogs and would do best in a home with more mature children. Biggie and Jada have so much love to give, and they would brighten your life if you would consider opening your heart and home to this deserving couple. File#25795 & 25796 11/14/15

Gustavo (Courtesy Post)
Hi, My name is Gustavo. I’m a 3 year old Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff). I don’t know why, but my owner abandoned me, and thankfully, SICAW is helping to find me a new home. I’m a very sweet, gentle dog who loves pupperoni and giving kisses. I walk well on a leash and would love to take long walks with you.
I have been at the kennel for a year. I’m a very sweet, gentle dog who loves pupperoni and giving kisses. I walk well on a leash and would love to take long walks with you. I follow commands such as– sit, give me your paw…. and of course give me kisses. By the way–I get along with other big dogs. I haven’t been with cats so don’t know how I will behave with them.
The volunteers are wonderful and take me out as much as they can, but what I really need is a home of my own with a cozy bed and a place to run and someone to give me all their attention. Could that be you? If big, lovable pooches are your thing, come down to the kennel to meet me. See what a great boy I am – just a big mush waiting for my own special person to shower with kisses and to love me in return.
Gustavo is 3 years old, is up to date with vaccinations, micro-chipped and on heartworm preventive. Gustavo as well as others can be seen at Country Estate Kennels at 4838 Arthur Kill Road on Sunday mornings from 10am to 12pm. Please check our home page for directions.
